Try this spin on a classic treat!

Ingredients

★ 8 cups self-raising flour
★ 1/3 cup dried munstead lavender
★ 4 cups full cream milk
★ 125g butter – melted
★ Pinch of salt


Method

Preheat oven to 200°C. Sift flour and salt into bowl. Stir in the dried lavender.

Add the milk, then stir in the melted butter using a flat utensil such as a butter or palette knife. When the mixture is combined, turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough lightly.

Cut dough using a scone cutter, place scones on a tray lined with baking paper, ensuring they are spaced apart. Bake for 15 mins at 200°C.

Best served warm with cream and jam.
